  About Us

Marie Nevin Maguire

RN, RM, Dip Counselling, MIACP

I began my professional life as a nurse, then midwife, and later specialised in the intensive care of the new born. I decided to retrain 8 years ago as a counsellor, studying counselling first at the Waterford Institute of Technology, and later in Cork. I practice as a humanistic integrative counsellor and am accredited with the IACP.   I have additional training in Imago Relationship Therapy, addiction, rape and sexual abuse.

I am presently counselling at the Waterford Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre and at the Solas centre in Waterford city.  I also work as the counsellor with an inner city youth project in Waterford city counselling young offenders and their parents. One of my main areas of interest is in exploring the impact of early childhood experiences in adult life.

I also run my private counselling practice from dedicated counselling rooms in Cheekpoint, Waterford.

Michele O’Neil

BSc., MIACP

My interest in counselling started due to my experience in facilitating Rainbows. This bought me on to study Psychotherapy at degree level.  I am now an accredited counsellor with the IACP and have also become an accredited supervisor.  I am continuing to gain experience in keeping with the IACP continuous professional development programme. This has included training in rape and sexual abuse and CBT (Cognative Behavioural Therapy).

I am currently a counsellor at the Rape and Sexual Abuse centre in Waterford; in a youth development programme, and am supervisor to care workers in several community projects based in Waterford.

I also have a private practice based in Thomas Street, Waterford City.
